International colloquium: “The Problem of impunity. Causes, manifestations and solutions”

Tunis, 22-23 November 2022


 
On 22-23 November 2022, the Tunisian National Authority for the Prevention of Torture (INPT) convened its seventh annual international colloquium in Tunis focusing on “The Problem of impunity. Causes, manifestations and solutions”. 
 
Participants included high-level institutional representatives of the Tunisian institutions, UN bodies and agencies, members of civil society organisations and international experts. The purpose of the two-day colloquium is to discuss the various aspects of the problem of impunity, including its causes and manifestations, but also its negative effects on the realisation of human rights as well as to to exchange know-how and good practices in the fight for accountability. 
 
The event was organised with the support of the Council of Europe and the EU and in cooperation with the UN Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner, UNPD, OMCT – Réseau SOS Torture, No Peace Without Justice, Al-Kawakibi Democracy Transition Centre, Danish Institute for Human Rights, EuroMed Rights, Dignity (Danish Institute against Torture), Trust (Transition Redevable pour la Société Tunisienne) and DCAF-Geneva.
