Francesca Basso

Francesca Basso holds a MA in International Relations from Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia and the European Master in Human Rights and Democratisation from the Global Campus of Human Rights. Particularly interested in Women’s Rights and LGBTI+ issues, along with her internship at NPWJ she is pursuing a PhD in Gender Studies with a project dealing with women’s human rights in childbirth. Her research has touched upon diverse issues such as women’s rights, identity, migration, neoliberal globalization and grassroots movements. Adopting a postcolonial, feminist, intersectional perspective focusing on power relationships, frontiers, and hybridation and mestizaje, she aims at bridging the gaps between academia and civil society, by acting and working at both levels, especially on issues of gender and human rights.
