Valerio Demontis

Valerio has just obtained a master’s degree in Economic Development and International Relations at the University of Pavia. In his final thesis, he studied the process of integration of the European Union focusing on the 2004 enlargement.  By applying an approach based on political economics, he tried to give an explanation to the main reasons that led to the difficulties after this specific enlargement.  
Previously, he obtained a degree in International Relations at the University of Sassari.  
During his academic career, he studied in Poland (Krakow), Czech Republic (Pilsen) thanks to Eramsus scholarships.  
He also obtained in 2019 and 2020 the ‘Giovanni Manera’ scholarship due he was able to attend the Silicon Valley Study Tour in California, and to write his final thesis on economic issues abroad (Czech Republic).  
In 2020, he worked as an intern at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Milan.  
He also has experience in the field of start-ups, where he participated in several events, including the Silicon Valley Study Tour in San Francisco (summer 2019).  
Valerio’s main areas of interest are: EU decision-making and integration processes; relations with Eastern European countries; human rights and the environment as well as environmentalism and digital issues.
