Location: Hotel Sofitel-Rabat
 
Civic Mobilization Theory – The First Step: A Vision of Tomorrow.
Participants will have a basic understanding of the theory of non-violent struggle from the books of Gene Sharp and Robert Helvey distributed prior the workshop. However, recognizing that these concepts are new, we will conduct and in-depth review of the theory of civic mobilization. (The trainers will introduce how and why it is applied in training activists engaging in projects for reform as well as which training tools are used to facilitate learning in this area.)
 
19 November:
 
All day: Training of Trainers on Non Violent Action and Strategies
Civic Mobilization Theory – Pillars of Support
(Participants will gain a closer understanding how power functions in a society, which means redirecting it into institutions, which is how the ruler must first disperse power in order to rule and which is then concentrated in organizations and institutions. Those institutions holding up the structures of power are called Pillars of Support.)
 
 
20 November:
 
All day Training of Trainers on Non Violent Action and Strategies
Civic Mobilization Theory – “Power-graph” exercise.
(Introducing the “snapshot” analysis concept, participants will conduct an analysis of pillars of support for
their country in a “power-graph”)
 
21 November:
 
All day Training of Trainers on Non Violent Action and Strategies
Mechanisms and Methods of Civic Mobilization
Concept of Conversion, Concept of Accommodation, Concept of Coercion/Disintegration will be discussed

Participants will learn how to turn theory and project plans into actions that yield results. The major subjects are Selecting tactics, Influencing Audiences (including marketing and branding), Influencing External Audiences, Managing a Civic Mobilization Campaign (including Organizational Design and Development, recruiting, training, and working with grassroots volunteers). How to set up an organization and mobilize for grass roots action includes recruiting and training
members for grassroots action, and coalition building with other civic groups.
 
24 November:
