Sports FIFA bans Haiti Under-20 women's team official in sexual abuse probe

Global soccer governing body FIFA on Monday banned Haiti's Under-20 women's team supervisor Nella Joseph for 10 years as part of an investigation into multiple allegations of sexual abuse of female players in the Caribbean nation. Joseph was found guilty by FIFA's independent Ethics Committee of failing to protect the physical and mental integrity of various female players under her authority and "by actively coercing and threatening them into engaging in sexual relationships" with former Haitian football association president Yves Jean-Bart, FIFA said in a statement on its website.

G7: Rich states want to send 40m more girls to school

At their first in-person meeting for two years, they will also agree to help 20 million more girls read by age 10. UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said educating girls was a smart investment.

Gender-Based Violence has been singled out as the major contributing factor to girls dropping out of school in Kenya, particularly this year when thousands of girls failed to sit for their national examinations in primary school. Statistics released by the Ministry of Education in March show that 12,424 Class 8 candidates did not turn up for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations administered in March.

Puerto Rican boxer Félix Verdejo Sánchez, also known as "El Diamante" or "The Diamond," appeared in court Monday morning, where he was ordered by the judge to be held without bail.
