Giulia Schiavoni

Program Adviser, Gender & Human Rights Program & Consultant on fundraising and project design

Giulia Schiavoni is Program Adviser for the Gender & Human Rights Program as well as responsible for fundraising and project design.
She started her career in 1998 at the European Commission in Brussels and in 2001 she started working at the European Parliament. In 2004 she joined NPWJ as coordinator of the program within the STOPFGM! Campaign to support the entry into force and the implementation of the Protocol on the Rights of Women in Africa. She was responsible for the preparation of the international conferences in Nairobi and Djibouti, which led to the ratification of the Protocol from both countries. In 2006, she moved back to Italy where she worked as a consultant for more than seven years for the Italian public administration, including the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry for Economic Development, being involved in several institutional cooperation projects with pre-accession countries. She participated as a volunteer in many initiatives promoted by NPWJ until she joined the organisation again in 2013. Giulia graduated in Economics in 1997 at the University of Salento and she is fluent in Italian, English and French.
