Human Rights and Freedom Under Siege

United Nations HG, New York, 26 September 2019

On the margins of the High-level Segment of the 74th United Nations General Assembly in New York, NPWJ is conceving a panel discussion on human rights and freedom under siege in Saudi Arabia with UN experts and families of people killed or imprisoned by the Kingdom.

About this Event
Freedom of expression and freedom from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, are essential building blocks of a democratic society. Suppression of dissent by any State power violates the freedom of its own citizens in a flagrant breach of international human rights. Equally, holding people in degrading and inhuman ways, and in the worst case, torturing them is unacceptable for any UN member state.
