{"id":254057,"date":"2021-07-16T10:03:22","date_gmt":"2021-07-16T08:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.npwj.org\/?p=254057"},"modified":"2024-01-23T10:06:41","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T09:06:41","slug":"high-level-conference-on-the-global-state-of-human-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.npwj.org\/it\/press-release\/high-level-conference-on-the-global-state-of-human-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"High-Level Conference on the Global State of Human Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: 14px;\">European Parliament &amp; Global Campus of Human Rights, 16 July 2021<\/span><\/h1>\n<div id=\"node-18624\" class=\"node node node-mine clearfix node-type-news\">\n<div class=\"node-inner\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n<p>On 16 July, the European Parliament and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gchumanrights.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Campus of Human Rights<\/a>\u00a0are\u00a0co-hosting the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/news\/en\/press-room\/20210712IPR08208\/high-level-conference-on-the-global-state-of-human-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">High-Level Conference on the Global State of Human Rights<\/a>\u00a0to discuss the state of human rights internationally.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will bring together MEPs, European Commissioners, Nobel Peace Prize recipients, Sakharov Prize laureates, representatives of international organisations, academia and stakeholders. It will take place at the Monastery of San Nicol\u00f2 in Venice and on Parliament\u2019s premises in Brussels, as well as remotely.<\/p>\n<p>NPWJ&#8217;s Secretary General\u00a0<strong>Niccolo Figa-Talamanca<\/strong>\u00a0will contribute as a speaker in the panel &#8220;A Pandemic of Impunity: Why Does Accountability Matter?&#8221;, which will map potential pathways to overcome the growing challenges to accountability and respond to the needs of human rights defenders.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When: Friday 16 July at 10.00 &#8211; 19.30 CEST.<\/li>\n<li>You can follow the whole conference
