am<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\nThe Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Committee on Development of the European Parliament is holding an exchange of views on the current human rights and humanitarian situation in Yemen, which will take place on Thursday 24 January at 9.45 &#8211; 11.15 am.<\/p>\n<p>This hearing will provide a unique opportunity to hear from leaders and advocates in the field of Justice and Human Rights as we press for an acknowledgement of the alarming deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen and explore how the European Union can contribute to a resolution aimed at ending the fighting in Yemen, easing the suffering of its population and providing accountability for the crimes and atrocities committed.<\/p>\n<p>Panellists will include\u00a0<strong>Kamel Jendoubi<\/strong>, Chairperson of the Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts on Yemen;\u00a0<strong>Lise Grande<\/strong>\u00a0(videomessage), UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen;\u00a0<strong>Rula Jebreal<\/strong>, award winning journalist, author and foreign policy analyst;\u00a0<strong>arian Sabahi<\/strong>, Ph.D., award winning journalist and lecturer in Politics and Religion at John Cabot University in Rome;\u00a0<strong>Radhya Al-Mutawakel<\/strong>, Yemeni human rights defender, co-founder and chairperson of Mwatana Organization for
