Qatar Permanent Delegation in Geneva Holds Workshop on Situation in Syria

Qatar Permanent Delegation to the United Nations Office at Geneva, in cooperation with the delegations of France and Italy, have organized a "workshop" under the title: "end impunity for the atrocities being committed in Syria". The workshop was held on the sidelines of the 26th session of the Human Rights Council, currently being held here from June 10 to 27. 
Participated in the workshop as keynote speakers were Dr. Ahmad Touma, head of the interim Syrian government Dr. Ahmad Touma, head of the Legal Committee of the Syrian National Coalition Haitham al-Maleh, head of the political bureau of the Patriotic Movement of Syria Dr. Imad Eddin Rasheed, along with former Italian Sen. Marco Perduca of the Nonviolent Radical party, transnational and transparty, and the Secretary-General of the No Peace Without Justice Organization Niccolo Figa-Talamanca, in addition to a large number of representatives of the permanent missions in Geneva and representatives of non-governmental organizations. 
The workshop aimed at keeping the attention of the international community focused on the continuing violations of human rights and war crimes committed daily in Syria, and to emphasize the need to continue diplomatic efforts to achieve justice and accountability for the victims of this violence.
