Iran sanctions and European companies: EFD and NPWJ convene briefing at the European Parliament

On 31 March 2014, the European Foundation for Democracy and No Peace Without Justice are convening a briefinf on “Iran: How European companies are evading sanctions”, to be held at the European Parliament, in Brussels.

Co-hosted by  Andrzej Grzyb MEP (EPP), Vice-chair, Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) and Andrey Kovatchev MEP (EPP), Vice-chair, Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET), the briefing will provide the latest insight into how companies are exploiting the European system and suggest a series of recommendations on how the EU and international community might tighten the loopholes that allow this exploitation to occur.

The speakers are Simon Henderson, Baker Fellow and Director of the Gulf and Energy Policy Programme at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, specialising in nuclear energy matters and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf and Emanuele Ottolenghi, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, Iran sanctions expert and specialist on Iran’s energy companies and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
