Presentation of the written proceedings of the Brussels Conference “Rule of Law v. Reason of State”

On 22 October 2014, the Nonviolent Radical Party, Transnational and Transparty (NRPTT) together with No Peace Without Justice and Hands off Cain convened, at the House of Commons in London, a presentation of the Written Proceedings of the Conference held in February at the European Parliament in Brussels “Rule of Law v Reason of State”.

The presentation also served as a springboard for the launch of a second Brussels Conference which will discuss how to improve the relationship between Governments and the public, through the possible creation of a universal Human Right to Know.

The event was held under the auspices of the Rt Hon Norman Baker, MP, Home Office Minister who has been paying significant attention over the years to the Iraq Inquiry and to the consequences of the Iraq war. Participants included: Dr Owen Thomas, Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Exeter, Stephen Plowden, a retired private British citizen who filed a request under the Freedom of Information, Marco Perduca, former Senator with the Nonviolent Radical Party, Transnational and Transparty (NRPTT), Niccolò Figa’-Talamanca, Secretary-General of No Peace Without Justice (NPWJ) and Marco Pannella, Leader of the NRPTT.
