Workshop on « International law and management of toxic or hazardous waste: international standards and safety requirements »

On the occasion of the United Nations Day celebrated on 23 October 2021, the Tunisian Association for the United Nations (Association Tunisienne pour les Nations Unies – ATNU), the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences of Tunis (Faculté des Sciences Juridiques Politiques et Sociales de Tunis  - FSJPST) and Fondation Hanns Seidel au Maghreb convened in Tunis a worshop on « International law and management of toxic or hazardous waste: international standards and safety requirements ».
 
Speakers included representatives of Tunisian government, UN agencies, academics and experts in the field of international law and environmental protection.
 
In the framework of the panel discussion “Prevention and repression to protect the environment: what perspectives?”, Michelle Reyes-Milk (Adjunct Professor at the School of Law of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP and Consultant on International Justice issues for No Peace Without Justice) addressed issues related to “Ecocide, or the Endangerment of the Environment as a Threat to Peace and Security?”.
