Participants will include, Hon. Marco Cappato, 2008 Human Rights Rapporteur for the European Parliament; Mr. Mensur Akgün, Program Director of TESEV; Sen. Marco Perduca and Hon. Maurizio Turco, Italian MPs and members of the Presidency o the senate of the NRP, citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s; Prof. Theo van den Hoogen, Professor of international and European law at Groningen University and one of the authors of the publication.
 
The objective of the study prepared by Dutch, Belgian, Slovak and Turkish experts in International and European law is to demonstrate that the isolationist policies imposed on Turkish Cypriots have no legal justifications. The study intends to play a role in building confidence between the two communities, as well as between Turkey and the Greek Cypriots. The publication has already been presented in a closed meeting with the High Contact Group for relations with Northern Cyprus at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Some members of the Group proposed to forward the report to the Legal Services of the European Parliament.
